Case Study for the Chemicals Industry |
Ronco Plastics is a major manufacturer of molded plastic (polyethylene) holding tanks for boats, recreational vehicles, and various industrial purposes. Ronco requested FinCo’s assistance in developing durable outdoor polyethylene tanks for storing acids and other caustic chemicals. These chemicals are often so corrosive in nature that they can eventually destroy standard polyethylene tanks, especially when exposed to prolonged sunlight. FinCo helped develop a line of fiberglass reinforced plastic (FRP) chemical containment tanks that were impervious to the long-term affects of acid and sunlight. FinCo still produces the outer fiberglass shells for these “glass backed” FRP tanks, which have become standard industry equipment for storing acids and other caustic substances. |
